A belated merry Christmas world. We took the 65 degree morning as an opportunity to take a walk around the pond, before we headed into the city to spend the holiday with our families.
Even though Christmas is fast approaching, the temperatures here haven’t felt as much. We took full advantage of the seventy degree days to get a bunch of needed items done. I put some finishing touches on the new rabbit hutch so we could finally move the bunnies out of the chicken coop.
I worked on stepping up my hummus game. Ever since our trip to Israel two years a ago, it has become a staple in the pu-pu rotation.
We also gave ourselves a Christmas present that we have been talking about for a couple years now. We bought a new record player so we could finally revive some of those family heirlooms living in the bottom of the closet.
Now onward to Christmas my friends.
While the Christmas tree is definitely the star of our Christmas decorations, we do have some other beloved items we put out each year.
We have two nativity sets that we put out each year. One large elegant one.
As well as a few signs.
Then there is one of my favorite items we have. It is a simple painted terra cotta Santa who looks downwards, like he may be sad. Well at some point the end of his hat broke off several years ago, and we left it near him until we could fix it, but it just seems to work better now as he looks longingly down at the poor broken tip of his cap. Each year we put it out just as is and it makes me smile. Poor Santa.
